Dear Diary

This past weekend I went to the Reading Festival, and to my surprise this gave me alot of inspiration for my music video. The focus of the festival was on my chosen genre, Indie/Rock music. I would really like to do a music video in the setting of a festival, however I know this will be near impossible, so perhaps I may instead include some form of live performance at some point in my video. Something signifiacnt that I noticed around the event was the type of clothing the people were wearing. Many of the goers to this festival were fans of the indie genre, and as such their clothing represented this, and so this will be helpful when it comes to the time of choosing what sort of clothing my models will wear for my music video.

Dear Diary

Since my last post, I have been trying to increase the amount of time I am spending on thinking about my music video, and trying to use any free time I have to try and come up with an idea. I spent a short while surfing the internet, looking at a range of music videos that could potentially be similar to mine. Something which could my eye was the idea of a lyric video, while including some form of narrative. I feel that this may be the direction that I would like to take my music video too.

Dear Diary

Having just broken up from school, I am now on the summer holiday, and as such, I will not be attending my weekly media lessons. Despite this, I still plan to keep this blog updated, with a range of blog posts. Many of these will likely be diary entries, as I will be updating the blog with my goings on with regards to any media work I get done over the holiday. I aim to focus my ideas in the planning aspect of my music video.

Diary Entry

This week I have been working on researching 3 record labels. I decided to focus on two main conglomerate labels, EMI and WMG, and one small label, Roc-A-Fella. This research has been hugely beneficial for me, as I feel that it has  given me an insight into the music industry, and how a company goes about promoting a song via the medium of music video, and I will use these newly learn't skills in the development of my final music video.
